One of the things my family seems to enjoy the most is sitting around a fire pit. Without fail every time I come to Texas, we spend at least one night around the fire. It doesn’t matter how hot or cold it is, we make it happen.
In addition to enjoying the time around the fire, this year I also got a bit of a gift. My grandfather had an old pot that had been passed down in his family. My mother decided it should go to me. Sadly it no longer can be used to cook with, but it will make a nice addition to my yard.
We spent part of our evening burning oil on it to help prevent rust. I am excited to have something else that has been in the family for many generations. Also excited to see what I can do with it when I get it home.
