Personal Resolution: No More Saying “I’m Too Old”

Personal Resolution: No More Saying “I’m Too Old”

Once again today the words “I’m too old for” were said by me. This has been a consistent problem with me for many years. The harsh reality is I am likely too old for some things I wanted to try in my life, but not most of them. In most cases, all it is is another reason for me to be down on myself and stop myself from even trying. Another trap I allow myself to get into in my mind that I dwell on and stop myself from even trying.

To that end, I am going to try to stop saying and stop thinking “I’m too old.” My age is not stopping me I am stopping me.

-I’m not too old to stream
-I’m not too old to further my writing career
-I’m not too old to be a better blogger
-I’m not too old to start cosplaying
-I’m not too old to get in shape and be proud of my body
-I’m not too old to start taking dance classes again if I decide to
-I’m not too old to learn to be better with my hair and makeup
-I’m not too old to learn new skills like drawing and sewing
-I’m not too old to learn new languages
-I’m not too old to make a difference
-I’m not too old to go back to school (if I should choose to)
-I’m not too old to chase my dreams
-I’m not too old to TRY

The only thing I am too old for is finding excuses not to try, to give up, to allow my depression to win.

I will do my best to delete these words from me and to stop feeding yet another self-made excuse to hold myself back.
